Rajasthan Govt. is going to introduce a mobile app to reduce the death accidents by 2020 as the death toll in road accidents is rising day-by-day.

According to National Crime Records Bureau data of 2015, 141,526 people were killed and 477,731 injured in road accidents in 2014.

This app named “Hamsafar” is made by the Chittorgarh collector Inderjeet Singh.

This app is going to be introduced before the state on 13th December on the occasion of successfully completing 3 years of the state govt. It will consist of all the necessary details that are required during accidents such as hospitals, ambulance services, police station and other emergency services so that the users can access details and seek the help.

He also said that the Indian Government is very much interested in implementing this in the national level.

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries call Jio, the fastest technology in world. He has announced that the users will get free voice, video and data plans till March 31st, 2017.

Jalandhar police has come up with a new mobile app to tackle the issue of violence during polls.

This app will be mainly used in Punjab and all the other states which are going to the poll.

All the police stations in the city are mapped in this app. So, if any complaint comes, then it will be directed directly to the police within a minute.

With this app, you can even make calls as the application will have all the contacts.

Police Commissioner Arpit Shukla said that the copies of this app will be provided to all political leaders and voters of the respective area before the elections.

New mobile app launched in Singapore for emergencies! Publishers claim that it serves like “Eyes and Ears” during crises.

This app will also serve as a platform for the public to provide feedback to the authorities.

With this app, users can send photos and videos of crises to the police by using a “point-shoot-send function”. They can call or text the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) as well.

It was noted by Nur Diyanah Anwar, a RSIS research analyst that the app would be rendered useless if mobile nteworks are disrupted during crises.

Associate Professor Kumar Ramakrishna, from the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), said that this app would be helpful for the concerned authorities to gather accurate information and provide the best solution.

A United States-based expert on public safety and homeland security, Russ Johnson, said concerned authorities must be in place to process and follow up with crowd-sourced information.

“For example, providing directions to stay indoors or head to a nearby evacuation centre… because during an emergency, people in the vicinity will be upset, nervous and will need clear directions,” said Johnson.

This app has public alert facilities like the warning siren network while the ministry is finding new methods to spread the emergency messages.

Human Trafficking is a very serious worldwide issue. Tens of thousands of people get trafficked each year. It is done mainly for prostitution or some form of labor and more recently, human organ trade.

Developed by an organization (Exchange Initiative) that is waging a war against sex trafficking, the TrafficCam app seems to be a very useful app.

Draftee Online, an app founded by the mothers of young men was launched by “Soldiers’ Mothers of Saint Petersburg” (a non-profit organization that acts against rights violation and abuse faced byyoung men recruited by the Russian Army).

The app provides essential details regarding the most pressing issues of the military draft, and helps them to independently defend their rights.

Draftee Online App has a special feature allowing user to send urgent messages to their beloved ones if they are detained illegally and drafted forcefully into the army.

Draftees can also use the app to get in touch with the organization’s own lawyers through a special contact form.

After the news-making Freedom 251, another smartphone has now claims to be the world’s cheapest smartphone at just Rs 99/-. This phone is named ‘Acche Din’ and is launched by Namotel.

The company is obviously something we have not heard of before. Is this another fake news? We cannot be sure. But it’d be clever not to spend your money on this.

The company has promised the phone to be available for booking from May 17th to 25th May 2016. According to company promoter Madhava Reddy, this could be the cheapest phone ever, and would revolutionise the mobile phone market. Mr.Reddy has previously been working in the Home Loans department for Axis Bank, as a Relationship Manager. It evidently points his inexperience with the smartphone industry.

Looking at the news, its hardly believable. The news raises a lot of suspicion. Lets hope people do not fall for such campaigns.

Prabhat Ranjan, Police Commissioner launched a new website and a mobile app on behalf of Mumbai Police.

The website of Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate and the mobile app- “Citizen Cop” are for the safety of citizens, mainly women.

“Our official website, navimumbaipolice.org, will act as a medium for interaction between the police and the citizens. The citizens can now obtain online information about the police permissions, types of licences, legal aspects, safety related information among others. Now, the citizens will not require to physically visit the police station for submitting mandatory documents such as rental agreement, domestic help employed, etc. Instead, they can do it online now by clicking on the option of ‘Inform Police”, Police commissioner Prabhat Ranjan said.

He asked the citizens to help in upgrading the website.

Ranjan added, “The key feature of Citizen Cop app is SOS facility for women in distress. If a woman travelling alone in a taxi or an auto finds the driver suspicious, she can click on the option and send distress messages to three mobile numbers of her family members and one message to the police control room.”

The app provides relevant information about the Traffic Police Department.

The website and app will be very helpful for the citizens regarding their safety.
